The WANFLUA would like to congratulate the career of WAFL Boundary Umpire Mitch Vernon, who announced his retirement to the group on Sunday.

Mitch has had an outstanding career, officiating in the 2020 WAFL League Grand Final, 8 AFLW Games, and a Reserves and a Colts Grand Final. Mitch also participated in the National 16’s Championships in 2017.

Mitch was always willing to mentor younger umpires coming through in all disciplines and provided a safe ear for many to talk to. He served on the general committee in 2023 and provided great service to the organisation.
